Planning

Strangely, we never ask how long a skydive lasts but this is the opposite at a wind tunnel.

We replicate the skydiving experience and offer flights which are about 1½ times longer than a tandem jump. So each flight is around 60 seconds, often a bit longer but never shorter than 50 seconds.

A double flight is about 120 seconds long. Please remember we are selling the exhilarating Indoor Skydiving experience which should never be measured in terms of time!

It may not sound long but as a first-time flyer it will seem much longer during the experience itself.

Are you kidding us - kids love it here! We can fly you from the age of 3 or above (you must be able to comfortably wear one of our helmets)

As a rule of thumb, we ask all flyers to arrive 45 minutes before their stated flight time, and you can expect to be on site for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

If you wear glasses, we recommend either removing them, or using contact lenses during your flight experience (but please note, there's always a small risk they may come out).
Alternatively, we can provide extra large goggles that fit neatly over your glasses, but this would not be possible on our Virtual Reality experiences, so would always recommend contact lenses for this.

  • Please arrive comfortably dressed and bring a pair of well fitting lace-up trainers. Avoid collared shirts and any form of slip-on or Velcro footwear. If you’re without lace up trainers, we have footwear for hire.
  • If you have long hair, bring something to tie it up and maybe a hairbrush.
  • You’ll be asked to remove ALL loose items ( watches / rings / jewellery, etc ) and will be provided with flight suit, helmet & goggles. You’ll also be offered earplugs before flying. Whilst we do have lockers on site, we suggest leaving valuables at home.

We advise that you bring a hard copy of all confirmation details including voucher(s) if applicable.

Vouchers

If you have booked in by redeeming a voucher issued by one of our Gift Experience Partners, it’s really important that you bring a hard-copy of the original voucher with you on the day. Showing us an image of a voucher on a mobile device won’t be accepted.

You must also ensure that the flight date you have booked is BEFORE the expiry date on your original voucher. Regrettably, we simply can’t fly you beyond the expiry date on your original voucher.

In the event that you do arrive without your hard copy voucher, the good news is that you can still fly if you’re happy to make an interim payment for your flight experience. Don’t worry, we will refund you as soon as you’re able to send us your valid and in date, original hard copy voucher. We hope you’ll appreciate that this process involves extra administration, so we process the refund less 5%.

A guardian for non-participating children (if applicable)

Please be aware that we are unable to supervise non-participating children while you enjoy your flights. During the experience, flyers will be seated in an air-locked area and separated from spectators for up to 30 minutes, so you’ll need to arrange supervision for any spectating youngsters.

As a rule of thumb, all flyers must arrive 45 minutes before their flight time.

Example: If you choose to fly at 4pm you must arrive by 3:15pm.

We operate a manifest in the same way you would expect an airline to work. It is therefore better to be here early, grab a drink & relax, leaving plenty of time for unexpected parking issues or motorway closures / delays.

Regrettably, if you are late, we will be unable to fly you and we do not offer refunds. Please also remember that our staff are not responsible for the motorways and parking, or any other reason why you may have missed your slot.

Your report time at iFLY will also be confirmed to you via email once you have successfully completed a booking with us.

Flyers under 18 yrs must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (over 18 yrs of age) on the day of flight.

The parent or guardian is required to complete a waiver for those under the age of 18 yrs.

The waiver must be completed in advance of arrival and you can do so here.

If the waiver is not completed prior to arrival we will be unable to fly you as it contains vital training, health and safety information.

Individuals and groups with additional needs or requirements CAN FLY. If you or someone you know finds it difficult to participate in able-bodied activities but still wants to be challenged, Indoor Skydiving might just be the perfect thing.

We have free parking available on site.

We ask that all flyers complete a waiver online before they arrive on the day.

This lets us know that you're fit to fly and we ask that you pay particular attention to the information regarding previously dislocated shoulders.

It also contains your essential pre-flight training and induction.

A parent or guardian will be required to provide a signature on the online waiver on behalf of any flyers under 18 yrs.  A parent or guardian should also be present on the day of the flight experience.

Anyone with reasonable health & fitness can fly but do check our list of criteria before you book. If you've any questions about who can fly, please contact us for a chat.

We'll do everything we can to help you fly.

The customer service desk at all of our facilities is open an hour before the first flight of the day (usually by 9am, though sometimes earlier or later according to the flight schedule) until one hour after the last flight time of the day.

If you're able to fly during our quieter times, you can save money on almost all our flight experiences.

Off peak and Super Saver sessions are typically mid week term time, and don't include weekends or school holidays.

Times vary by location, and you can make bookings and see all live availability here

iFLY classifies ‘groups’ as 5 or more flyers. Groups of this size are rewarded with discounts.

Read more about group bookings.

We can accommodate up to 13 flyers per session, but if your group size exceeds 13, we can still fly you across multiple flight sessions. To discuss group bookings further, contact 1-800-604-3489

No, once you have made your reservation, you have paid for your flight experience.

However, we do have a number of optional extras that can be purchased on the day of your flight. Many customers ask us why we don’t include certain extras in the basic cost of our flight experiences and it’s a good point. The downside is that including extras would simply add a bit to the cost for everyone coming to fly and we don’t think that’s fair. However if you want to add pictures, videos, repeat flights or have a High-Flight experience, we do charge for them as extras.

For more information specifically about our extras please contact us.

Flight sessions involve occasional flash photography (the driver of our wind tunnel will be taking snaps of flyers mid-flight) and occasional strobe lighting.

This should not affect your ability to fly or spectate, but please contact us before arrival if you think we should know about any conditions such as epilepsy or seizures. We may be able to adjust our systems to accomodate.

No, it’s just like breathing normally actually…..so there is no specialist breathing equipment required. Just relax and breathing will come naturally.

If you do suffer from any breathing difficulties such as Asthma, don’t worry, in most cases you’ll still find flying a comfortable experience and be able to breathe normally. However we do recommend you contact us with any queries so we can offer further advice.

The High-Flight is where instructors will be able to give you a taste of what’s it's like to fly like a pro as they take hold of you and fly you around the tunnel, occasionally high up towards the top.

iFLY endeavours to offer the High-Flight in as many sessions as possible, but owing to the specialist training and experience level required, we are unable to guarantee it. Remembering that Indoor Skydiving is a skill-based pursuit, we do encourage flyers to be in control of their own experience and to fly independently of their instructor. The High-Flight for that reason is an ‘extra’ and is only a standard experience in selected iFLY packages.

Instructors able to offer the High-Flight are among the most experienced in the world, undergoing hours of rigorous training before they are licensed* to fly with others. If an instructor with the appropriate license deems they can fly safely with an iFLY customer, and enhance their experience at the same time, then the High-Flight will be offered. If you have any questions regarding the High-Flight, we urge you to speak to a member of the team in advance of your flight.

Get in touch with us, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

*High-Flight licenses are issued by the independent governing body of our sport, the International Bodyflight Association (IBA).
